In every scene of The Upward Drift, two voices respond to the same moment from opposite directions — Echo, who drifts toward comfort, and Nova, who's already moving toward what's next.

The Storm Season is about parenting a teenager — staying close while loosening your grip on someone who's pulling away on purpose. It's the silence at the dinner table, the drive to school where nobody talks, and the daily work of not taking it personally when the whole point, developmentally, is that they're supposed to pull away.
